A word on collaboration

Just a really quick note on this as I am in the middle of building out some core components of the platform (more on this later) but also thought this was worth saying. Throughout my career I have placed a high value on collaboration, I think that teams that are able to break to bonds of traditional silos are more effective and usually higher performing. I have unfortunately been in teams, and worked with teams, where the basic fundamentals of a collaborative environment do not exist and you can see the negative impact that it has.

“Relevance” I hear you ask. Well, since posting this morning and sharing on Twitter I have had some really generous offers of support and assistance from people within the industry. Not inundated, this is not a post desired to inspire FOMO, but even the few that have been in touch have helped to just give that little nudge of validation about the product. Sometimes it is really easy to live in a bit of a bubble where all you see is the success of what you are building, and that bubble can easily be popped. But it is great that my belief in the product, or at least the values that have inspired it, are shared by others. As of yet nobody has asked for a fee for their time and nobody has tried to sell me anything, maybe this will come later. But right now I am buoyed by the fact that, on the face of it at least, people want to see this succeed and want to be part of the journey.

Collaboration is the key to success and I am thankful for those who have taken the time to reach out so early on the journey. I am certain that your input will help shape a truly fantastic platform that will benefit so many.

Thank you

Mark
